A New Perspective

Well, the last couple entries focused on the End of the World... as we know it.  It HAS changed and continues to change.  While the nation faces the healthcare, gun control and higher taxes issues, I am sitting back wondering why I am continuing to feed the corporate monster with my time and energy.   I recently began listening to the Four Hour Work week audiobook http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/ on my 2.7 hour commute every day.   Yes, I spend that much time on the road M-F to go to a job that does not fulfill or inspire me.   I have to ask myself, WHY?  Well, I've discussed this before in previous entires, because I built the American dream and now I'm suffering from the empire I've created.  

The debt, the lifestyle, the education, the stress, the EFFORT that goes into this monster is huge.   I'm tired.  Tired of giving all of myself to something that gives nothing back.  It's time for a new plan.   The International Living conference I went to a few months ago, the desire for something different, the tools provided by those who have done it before me and my willingness to change the direction of my efforts is what will give me a new opportunity to do what I love.  First, get out from under the empire.   Live simply.  Live cheaply.  Generate passive income and become self reliant.   It's a tall order, but I believe this is my new path.   I told myself that I was going to make a new five year plan.  But I'm not getting any younger so this plan is going to be a one year plan.   At the end of its execution, I hope to be enjoying more time to do what I like to do.  I think the first step is eliminating all the things that I do that wastes time and energy.   I need to focus on those things that I enjoy and the things that will give me the lifestyle I want.

I have to thank my friends Des and Rox for showing me that there is a much bigger, better world out there.  They showed me that everything I had been taught about what brings happiness isn't for me and there ARE alternatives!  

I have much to do this year and I will keep you all apprised of the progress.
